Getting Fit and Raising Awareness: CrossFit
Our President, Hannah McPeak, spearheaded this cause in 2016 and due to its success, she expanded this fundraising event to several local Detroit CrossFit locations. She engaged with local CrossFit gym owners and coaches to develop a WOD (workout of the day) called “Monarch WOD” that specifically raised awareness about human trafficking. Every part of the workout was built on numbers related to specific information regarding human trafficking.
In addition to getting a proper workout, MW-HAT team members provided attendees with an overview of human trafficking, engaging them to increase their awareness of human trafficking and what they can do, both financially and physically, to help counter the spread of this modern form of human slavery.
Coach Jordan Levin at CrossFit Bloomfield was excited to host us. “I am honored to have the opportunity to support Monarch Wings,” Levin said. “We certainly hope the funds raised will ensure these victims will be able to appreciate everything that Monarch Wings stands for.”
Thank you for your generous support. You make it possible for us to bring
life-saving restoration to individuals affected by human trafficking in the Detroit area.
